Tribute to James Vernon Fellers 1947-2011
James Vernon Fellers entered into eternal rest on Saturday, May 28, 2011, after
a courageous battle with esophageal cancer. Born in "Jim Fellers was one of those unique and rare individuals whose humble nature prevented him from ever realizing the full measure of his contribution to our association and community. We started together in the association and I am so grateful to have been able to share time and friendship with this special man and his family. From emptying trash cans to providing his enormous financial and management expertise SGAA received an unfathomable amount of gifts from Jim’s generosity. Without his contributions I seriously doubt SGAA could or would exist today. He and Tommy were the backbone of the association and I know our family feels an huge debt of gratitude for their service. Our love for the park can only be exceeded by the devotion and time given by Jim and Tommy. Our heartfelt sympathy goes out to the Fellers family. Jim fought the good fight with the same dignity, courage and humbleness that he conducted his life. We at SGAA and our community are a better place because Jim Fellers came our way." David E.
